I have wide feet with a high instep and usually have to either sacrifice comfort or looks when shoe shopping. Not at Akerman’s! I couldn’t believe how easily the staff at Akerman’s Shoes were able to fit me with cute shoes that didn’t kill my feet. It is a relief to buy shoes from people who actually *know* shoes, know how to find a correct fit, and carry multiple different widths. If I could give Akerman’s 6 stars, I would.

Highly recommend! More people need to look here for hard to find gems and cute comfortable shoes. My husband got a pair of New Balance (motion control) that have lasted him over 9 years. He also buys his work boots water proof/Dura Shocks, special ordered from the Wolverine Company. Akerman’s make sure the ones he ordered would fit. Plus he buys his insoles, they have everything right there. Great USA made socks. I could go on. Love this store.
Great little shore store where you get old fashion hands on service for everything from measuring your feet to getting the perfect fit! My feet pronate (my arches are flat as a bear paw) and I wear a size 12 EEEE so I really appreciate being able to try on a good selection of shoes in my size to get the perfect feel and fit.

It is nearly impossible to find shoes that fit. I’m sure before long I’ll need to but an 8 wide for my right foot & a 9 double wide for my left. The ladies in Ackerman s have never failed to find me something. Today they brought me 10 or 11 pairs then found the one that works.
Pleasant and friendly. Greeted when I arrived. Have purchased shoes from Ackerman’s in the past and have been pleased. Purchased a pair of winter boots today. They have a great sale going on.
